OUR PATRON CANONIZED
On July 3, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI signed two decrees promulgating the heroic virtues of Nuno and recognizing the authenticity of a miracle (the healing of a blind woman in Portugal). By these acts, the Holy Father formally canonized Saint Friar Nuno de Santa Maria Alvarez Pereira. The public celebration of his canonization took place on April 26,2009. His feast has been fixed universally in the Roman Calendar as November 6th. Click HERE to see photos from the canonization
